Friday April 21, 2017 was a very especial day for PAFA and our Community, i.e. after a gap of almost a year and a half, PAFA successfully launched a "Meet and Greet Evening." PAFA Executive Committee, and the wonderful owner and the staff of Village Restaurant worked hard to put together a casual evening of delicious food and great musical program. The night was filled with laughter, pleasant conversation, and Pakistani music. The All Star Band entertained all of us with some magical keyboard performance with wide range of songs including the unplugged ones. The audience also demonstrated their musical talents too which was a delight to itself. Here are some pictures of the evening that we would like to share with you, enjoy! Event Pictures
President - 2017
Across the board, the Pakistani-Americans are working hard and doing their best for the greater good, but our work is not done yet. The way I see, it is that the Pakistani-Americans is a community of immense talents and capacities and therefore more is expected from us. And I believe, and we believe, we can deliver on those promises.
For this very reason, PAFA is organizing a great event on @ one of the best Pakistani Cuisine venues in the town called the Village Restaurant. Let's call this "Meet & Greet." It's going to be an evening filled with friends & families, dining together with some very exciting music. But more importantly we will have an open-mic system for our Communities to express their views about PAFA and it's future role. And also anyone who has musical talent, poetic talents or who can entertain the audience with funny jokes is more than welcome to do so. We the Executive Committee and the management of the Restaurant are working very hard to put together this program, and we hope to see you all, Inshallah.
Dear Friends of PAFA,
We have learned the very shocking and saddening news of the terrorist suicide attack on the shrine of Lal Shahbaz Qalandar in Sehwan on Thursday evening where at least 70 people were killed and more than 150 injured. PAFA expresses deep sorrow over the loss of precious innocent lives and sympathizes with the bereaved families. A wave of terrorist attacks has hit Pakistan during this week. Earlier today an army convoy was targeted killing three soldiers. On Feb 15, three personnel of the Khasadar force and five civilians were killed in a suicidal attack, and also the very same day a suicide bomber run into a vehicle carrying judges in Peshawar, killing the driver and injuring its four other occupants. On Feb 13, a protest march on Lahore's Charing Cross interchange was attacked by a suicide bomber that killed 13 and injured 85 innocent people. On the same day, two personnel of Baluchistan's bomb disposal squad were killed in Quetta as they attempted to defuse an explosive device planted under a bridge.
PAFA strongly condemns all the recent resurgence in the terrorist attacks in Pakistan. May Allah reward all the innocent people, who died in this senseless act of terror, a highest place in the Jannah and give sabar to their families. In this difficult time, we stand together with our beloved nation and pray for the safety of every Pakistani. May Allah Bless Pakistan.
